Delete Your Data
Last updated: February 2026
At Octopye Digital Designs, we believe you should have complete control over your data. This page explains how your data is stored within AllerGen and provides instructions for deleting it.
1. How Your Data Is Stored
AllerGen uses AsyncStorage, a local on-device storage system, to save your allergy profiles, food logs, and reaction logs. This data exists solely on the device where you installed the App and is not synchronised, uploaded, or backed up to any external server.
2. How to Delete Your Data
There are several ways to delete your data from AllerGen, depending on how much data you want to remove:
Delete Individual Entries Within the App
You can remove specific entries directly within AllerGen:
- Allergy Profiles: Navigate to the Allergy Log tab, swipe left on an allergy entry, and tap delete.
- Food Logs: Navigate to the Food Log tab, select the entry you want to remove, and delete it.
- Reaction Logs: Navigate to your reaction history, select the entry, and delete it.
This method allows you to selectively remove specific records while keeping the rest of your data intact.
Clear App Data from Device Settings
You can clear all AllerGen data without uninstalling the App:
On iOS:
Settings > General > iPhone Storage > AllerGen > Offload App
On Android:
Settings > Apps > AllerGen > Storage > Clear Data
This will erase all locally stored app data, including allergy profiles, food logs, and reaction logs, without removing the App itself.
Uninstall the App
The simplest way to delete all AllerGen data is to uninstall the App from your device. When you uninstall AllerGen, all locally stored data — including allergy profiles, food logs, and reaction logs — is permanently and irrecoverably deleted.
You can reinstall the App afterwards for a fresh start with no previous data.
3. RevenueCat Subscription Data
If you have purchased a subscription through AllerGen, your subscription is managed by RevenueCat. RevenueCat stores subscription-related data including an anonymous user ID, purchase history, and device identifiers.
To request deletion of your RevenueCat subscription data:
- Contact us at support@octopye.com and we will submit a deletion request to RevenueCat on your behalf.
- Alternatively, you can contact RevenueCat directly through their privacy page.
- Note that cancelling a subscription and requesting data deletion are separate actions. To cancel your subscription, use your device's App Store or Google Play subscription management.
4. AI Image Analysis Data
When you use AllerGen's food label scanning feature, images are sent to our servers for real-time AI-powered analysis. It is important to understand:
- Images are processed in memory and are not stored, saved, or retained on our servers.
- Once the analysis result is returned to your device, the image data is immediately discarded from our systems.
- There is no server-side image archive, database, or backup containing your scanned images.
- Analysis results (product name, ingredients, allergen warnings) are stored locally on your device as part of your food log and can be deleted using the methods described above.
5. No Server-Side User Data
Octopye Digital Designs does not maintain any server-side databases or storage systems containing your personal data from AllerGen. Specifically:
- We do not store user accounts, profiles, or authentication credentials.
- We do not store allergy profiles, food logs, or reaction logs.
- We do not store images submitted for AI analysis.
- We do not store usage analytics tied to individual users.
- We do not maintain backups of your in-app data.
The only data that transiently passes through our servers is image data submitted for allergen analysis, which is processed in real-time and immediately discarded.
